Dr. Kimberly Alderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is licensed to practice in the states of Illinois and Indiana. She has worked in the field of Social Work for over 25 years and has a background in Child Welfare, Counseling, and Medical Social Work. Dr. Kimberly Alderson's career has afforded her the opportunity to understand how individuals and life changes can shape a person identity and train of thought. Working with a vast population of clients, has taught Dr. Alderson how the dynamics of life, work, family, and other unexpected or unforeseen changes in life can cause a disruption in the way one patterns their thoughts and actions that can determine how a client process or handle their stress or environmental change to adapt to situations which affect them directly or indirectly. Dr. Alderson’s experiences from working in this field has helped her to learn how to listen and engage with clients more effectively by meeting them where they are at. Dr. Alderson has worked with individuals who have encountered trauma, loss of love ones, PTSD, depression, and a lack of self-esteem and through these encounters have taught individuals how to engage in self-care in order to self-cure.
Dr. Alderson also strives to educate and inform people on the power of self-care through her podcast. She offers coaching one-on-one in teaching individuals how to practice self-care, and workshops on self-care. These workshops provide education, awareness, empowerment, and elevation in the facet of self-care. Dr. Alderson has a private practice in which she provides counseling for individuals of all ages, couples, and families. Her counseling style is non-judgmental, understanding, respectful, and faith based. She believes that the therapeutic relationship should be a collaborative effort between the client and therapist to work together in an effort to discover insightful techniques and solutions that best help the client focus on their specific needs.
